MSgt Kerrick A. Brown, December 4, 1968 – January 30, 2024.

Our long time Financial Secretary and a major player in our annual Ceili.

Retired MSgt. Kerrick Brown, 55, of Summerville, SC
Born in Ft. Pierce, FL.  His parents were Anthony Brown and Janis (Rapier) Brown. After earning his bachelor’s degree in 1990, he joined the US. Air Force, where he served his country for 22 years.

He was a devoted member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He is survived by his wife, Alexandra Zschammer; sons, Martin (Mallory) and Michael (Gabrielle) Rankin; grandsons, Myles Brown and Jensen Rankin; mother, Janis Brown; brothers, Jay (Susan) Brown and Matt (Jeanette) Brown. He also leaves behind a very large loving family with a host of nephews, and nieces.

Paul Francis Hood

Division President January 2021 through May 2021. His term cut short by his passing.

Paul Francis Hood, 66, of Summerville, husband of  Carla Pauline for 45 years,  passed away May 8, 2021 at Lowcountry Community Hospice House, Summerville after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Hibernian prayer service, with the membership in green jackets, was conducted before the funeral mass at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church.

Paul was born October 6, 1954, in Granville, NY, son of the late Philip John Hood and Mary Louise Amell Hood. Mr. Hood received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the State University of New York, Albany. He was a Product Engineer with Albany International and retired after 36 years. After retirement he opened a home improvement company  “Hood Home Services”  for 5 years. Mr. Hood enjoyed golfing, traveling, fishing, meeting new people and was president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Maewyn Sucatt, Dorchester Division 1. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.

Leonard “Len” M. Roberts, Jr., 74, of Summerville, husband of the late Dorothy J. Roberts, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at his residence.

Len was born on October 5, 1947 in Lackey, KY, son of the late Leonard M. Roberts, Sr. and Nellie Terry Roberts. He graduated from Ohio State University and went on to receive his Masters from Ashland University in Ohio. He enjoyed playing the guitar.

Survivors include: son, Kevin Roberts (Charnett) of Jackson, TN; and sisters: Clementene Tackett (Danny) of Melvin, KY and Rita Donaldson (John) of Columbus Grove, OH.

Joseph Bernard Clarke (1937 – 2015)

Summerville, South Carolina
 

Joseph “Joe” Bernard Clarke, 78, of Summerville, husband of Gloria Jean (Cochran) Clarke, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Summerville Medical Center. Joe was a member of the Maewyn Succat, Dorchester Division 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians where he was the original cook for our Annual Ceili corned beef and cabbage dinners, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the choir at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville.  A Funeral mass was held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11 o’clock AM. Entombment was at Dorchester Memory Gardens.

 

Roger Leroy Shepherd, Sr. (1941- 2015)

Roger Leroy Shepherd Sr., 77 of Summerville, SC, a retired Navy Storekeeper and employee at the Charleston Naval Shipyard until its closing in 1996, passed away Saturday June 23, 2018. Roger was born in Ohio. He leaves a son Roger L Shepherd Jr. of Summerville and a brother in Florida. He was predeceased by his Daughter Karin. Roger was a member of the Maewyn Succat, Dorchester Division 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians and a Past Grand Knight at Council 6629, Knights of Columbus. . A Mass was celebrated for Roger at St Theresa’s Church on Wednesday August 29th at 9:00am.
